******CLOSING******

It is with mixed feelings that I am announcing the closing of Hobby Universe. I have enjoyed the 5+ years we have been in business and appreciate the support and friendship we experienced during that time.

As with just about any business that's closing, we will be selling off what inventory and fixtures we can before closing our doors completely. We don't have a lot left but what merchandise we do have will be discounted at increasing levels until its gone or we close.

Until the time comes that we do close completely, we will still be able to make special orders for customers. Please note that special order items will not be discounted for liquidation. The discounts apply only to in stock items as our goal is to move existing inventory out. Also, we ask that all special orders be paid for in advance.

I think it is important to mention that this is in no way the fault of Nick, who took over the store from me just over a year ago. The writing was already on the wall before he stepped in and even with his efforts, we just couldn't pull it off, especially with the economy in the state it is in.

Beginning Friday, 6/12/09, merchandise to be liquidated will be discounted by 30%. Fixtures, show cases and other non merchandise items will be priced for sale over the weekend and available for purchase beginning Monday 6/15/09.

The website HobbyUniverse.com is being converted into a hobby based open forum. I would like to encourage everyone to join. I will do my best to add as much information as possible to keep it fresh and will welcome every ones input. One thing that I have learned while running the hobby shop is that the majority of those involved in various hobbies, from novice to veteran, are passionate about their particular hobby with an eagerness to help and share their knowledge.
